Design Thomas Bernstrand

Crafted in the same style as the individual Korg products, this modular furniture system is as flexible as it is versatile. The system is comprised of armchairs, backed benches and modular units. An attachable version was designed for installation outdoors, while a freestanding model has been created for indoor use. Seat cushions upholstered in sustainably-sourced Swedish leather are available for the indoor models.

When ordering, specify which of our standard colors you want:
Dark blue/Grey RAL 5008, fine texture.
Black Noir 2200 Sablé, fine texture.
Red/Orange RAL 2002 (matt clear coat), fine structure.
C for any color other than standard, at additional cost.

Variants

Korg Bench module and Sofa module cannot be combined with each other.
A module is seat excluding legs.
Legs for Korg Furniture system is ordered separately. See System description for more information.

Materials and surface treatments

Zinc plated and powder coated steel in the standard colors black Noir 2200 Sablé, red / orange RAL 2002 or gray / blue RAL 5008.
Specify colour of choice when ordering.
Other colors are available at an additional cost.

Steel

Nola uses high-quality steel with good strength in our products. Steel rusts if left untreated and must therefore be surface treated. 

Electrogalvanized

Electrogalvanizing (also known as zinc plating) provides corrosion protection through the sacrifice of zinc ions. It is created via a zinc coating on the steel using an electric current.

Powder coating

Powder coating is a coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint, powder coating is usually applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light. The result is an even, hard-wearing coloured surface with the desired gloss level.

Assembly and placement

Freestanding

Freestanding product that is placed directly on the ground.

In-ground

Cast in ground.

Surface mount

Can be bolted above ground, to the floor or to a cast-in-place foundation. Bolts not included.

Mounted to the ground.

Maintenance

Powdercoated steel

Products that are powder-coated can be touch-up painted with alkyd paint.

Designers

Thomas Bernstrand

Designer Thomas Bernstrand, who owns his own design studio in Stockholm, has participated in a large number of design and art exhibitions around the world such as MoMA in New York, Colette in Paris, Biennale Design Saint-Etienne and others.

Bernstrand has received several awards for his work, including Excellent Swedish Form and Winner of the Good Design Award 2012 for Nolastolen Share. For Nola, Bernstrand has designed a large number of products and furniture series and participated in a number of special projects over the years.
