Traneberg Senior Housing

Client: Micasa
Designers: Veryday (McKinsey Design) and Mats Aldén

Traneberg senior housing in Bromma, Stockholm, comprises around 70 apartments with a shared green courtyard furnished with the Access sofa and the SunSet furniture series. For this project, accessibility has been a fundamental requirement, ensuring the furniture meets the residents' needs, is easy to move around, and functional. The Access sofa was developed in collaboration with Veryday through a special process to create a highly accessible piece.

“One important feature of the chair, often overlooked, is that the armrests fit under the table.”

Kasper Soila, Sales Manager at Nola

“In addition to Access, SunSet is also particularly suitable for senior housing. One important feature of the chair, often overlooked, is that the armrests fit under the table. This is a requirement for accessibility, as the chair must be able to slide close and under the table,” explains Kasper Soila at Nola.

The seat and backrest are higher than standard heights, and incline slightly forward to enable those seated to rise more easily.

Both Access and SunSet are environmentally certified according to SundaHus and Byggvarubedömningen. The SunSet armchair is also stackable, making it especially practical for courtyards and areas where furniture needs to be moved around and stored during the winter.
