Architect: Nivå Landscape Architects
Developer: JM
Completion: 2018
Site: Sjövikshöjden, Årstadal, Stockholm
Working collaboratively with Nivå Landscape Architects, Nola contributed to the development of the infrastructure for Stockholm’s suburban Sjövikshöjden project. The site required seating and lighting solutions that would reflect the needs of city dwellers while respecting the surrounding forests and green spaces. A new local park was created in the centre of the development, which is surrounded by municipal community spaces and a primary school.
A continuous pergola was designed specifically for the project. It extends across the entire site, linking different levels to each other. The frame is hot-dip galvanised and painted in subtle shades of green that blend into the surroundings. Part of the pergola extends into grounds of a preschool on the site, while another part shelters some of the seating and flanks the road. The site includes products from the Bakgård furniture group, Big Basket and Tin litterbins. Backed benches from the Hjorthagen range were installed on the terraces near the top of the site.
The Hjorthagen backed benches permeate the terrace area.
