Nola’s Outdoor Office Concept Launches in Växsjö, Sweden

Nola’s outdoor office concept was launched at WorkOUT in Växsjö, Sweden, as part of the city’s ‘Business Town’ initiative. The project marks a major investment in Växjö's expansion as a business centre, where Nola, in collaboration with Norrporten property company, designed parts of the site. Gestalt Architecture and architect Christian Kahlefeldt created outdoor workstations and meeting spaces with a number of Nola products. The result was a well-thought-out design scheme, both from an aesthetic and a sustainable point of view.
Work OUT is situated in a tranquil, green environment for both conferences and spontaneous meetings or relaxation, with comfortable benches for all types of work. The outdoor offices were designed with ergonomics in mind, providing scope to sit or stand in meetings and while working at designated workstations. The spatial concept included flexible spaces for meeting rooms and open areas where workers could come together or work individually. Wireless WiFi access was provided throughout the site, and power points were connected to solar panels to obtain a green energy source.
The offices included products from Nola’s Kajen furniture group designed by Thomas Bernstrand. Sun loungers, backed benches and classic outdoor tables crafted in Sioo-treated oak were used to create areas for work. The conference area was furnished with products from the Parco furniture group designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle. The conference tables and chairs were crafted from Sioo-treated oak, with some ergonomically designed for standing while working.
We produced an extended version of the Origami sofa designed by Torbjörn Andersson to absorb the sunshine along an outdoor wall. In the conservatory, we installed backed benches, swivel chairs and tables from the Korg furniture series.
We furnished the lounge areas with Kajen Hammock chairs in bright yellow together with Four Seasons sun parasols, all designed by Thomas Bernstrand. We also included the Sun table, designed by Monika Förster.
