Exploring Digital Product Passports with Nordic Circular Link

2025–09–12

At Nola, we are driven by a commitment to stay at the forefront of innovation and product development. Together with Nordic Circular Link, we are now taking the next step, exploring how digital product passports (DPPs) can become part of the future furniture industry.

A digital product passport works like an ID card for a product, providing details on its materials, manufacturing process, and guidance for maintenance or repair. This makes it easier to follow a product’s entire lifecycle, from material choices to future spare parts.

“This partnership is an important step toward understanding how new technology can strengthen both us and our customers. We’re in a phase of listening, learning, and testing, but we already see how digital product passports can become a key tool for transparency and value creation,” says Henrik Edlund, CEO at Nola.

The collaboration combines Nordic Circular Link’s technical expertise with Nola’s experience in design and production.

“We see great potential in developing scalable solutions that make the industry more transparent and resource-efficient,” says Niklas Madsen, co-founder of Nordic Circular Link.

Testing is currently underway in a selection of Nola products, an initial step toward understanding how DPPs can be applied more broadly across the furniture industry.

The collaboration will next be presented at Möbelriksdagen in Tranås, Sweden, 18–19 September.
